The terms on which this hobby site is made available. Short, and in plain language.

1. About these terms

reactguide.org is a personal hobby project run by an individual, not a company. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. What the site is

A free, publicly available written guide to the React JavaScript library. It is educational material offered as-is. There is no account to create, nothing to buy, no service to subscribe to, and no support attached to it.

3. No affiliation with Meta or the React team

This is an independent, unofficial guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Meta Platforms, Inc. or the React core team in any way. React and related names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to identify the software the guide describes.

The official documentation lives at react.dev and should be treated as authoritative wherever this guide and it disagree.

4. Accuracy, and no warranty

The guide is written carefully but may contain mistakes, and software changes faster than documentation does. Content is provided without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Nothing here is professional advice. Test any code before relying on it, and satisfy yourself that it is correct and suitable for what you are doing.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site's operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or from reliance on its content — including lost data, lost profits, broken builds, or business interruption.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Availability

This is a hobby site. It may be slow, may go offline, may move, may change without notice, and may stop existing. No uptime is promised and no notice period applies.

7. Using the content

Code samples

The code examples in the guide are short, illustrative, and free to use in your own projects, commercial or otherwise, with no attribution required. They are provided with no warranty.

Written content

The prose, layout, and design of the site are the operator's copyright. You are welcome to link to any page, to quote short passages with attribution, and to print pages for your own use. Republishing whole chapters, or reposting the guide elsewhere, requires permission — just ask.

Automated access

Occasional, polite crawling is fine. Aggressive scraping that affects the site's availability for other people is not, and such traffic may be blocked.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to break the law, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the server or any part of it, to probe or test its security without permission, to introduce malicious code, or to interfere with anyone else's use of it.

9. Links to other sites

Links to external sites are offered as a convenience. Their content is not controlled here, and including a link is not an endorsement.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The current version is always the one on this page, with the date shown at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.

11. Governing law
